He was lost and alone. Then he found her.
And the future seemed more fragile than ever.

As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.

All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…

As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.

Thank goodness Tammara Webber wrote this. I have been dying to get into Landon Lucas Maxfield's head. He was a mystery during Easy. This is where I got to know him better. You see, Landon Lucas is a very compassionate yet smart person. He wears his heart on his sleeve even if he doesn't admit it.

I enjoyed getting to know Landon. He's this troubled teenager who lost his mom and did everything he could just to build up a wall around him and not let anyone in. Well, at least he tried that is. I teared up a little bit when Charles Heller showed up at their house right after Landon got arrested. He offered Landon a way out to start over again, something his father neglected to do. He isn't really a hopeless teen, like what his high school principal suggests he is. His friendship with Boyce was the one that gave Landon's point of view a bit of color. They are such guys! Well, somewhat baked guys to be exact.

But I loved Lucas more. He did sound like a creep at times. His feelings for Jacqueline is something that I think all boys should look up to. He adores her a lot and would do anything and everything just to make her happy and keep her safe. Although in Lucas' point of view, this is just his side of Easy only, well, more in depth in some parts.

I'm not a big fan of guys with piercings and all but can I just say that Lucas' lip ring is like the hottest thing I have ever read? And he had the nerve to put a tongue button. I think I just melted. Their chemistry just went up the roof and set my house on fire. Like, really!

Author of BreakableEasy, and the Between the Lines series. She is a former undergraduate academic advisor, married to her high school sweetheart, mother to three adult children and four very immature cats.
